A business graduate with a post graduate diploma in marketing. Carolyn was one of the first members of the Chartered Institute of Marketing to become Chartered. Her career began in journalism and the media, before progressing to work in both advertising and marketing agencies. She started her own PR and marketing agency in Devon in 1993 before the business moved to larger premises across the Tamar to Cornwall in March 2005.
Carolyn is a service-marketing specialist who believes that marketing, direct marketing and PR functions are intricately linked. A strategic thinker, she has worked for many of the region's leading service organisations in business support, legal services, information, advice and guidance, training and construction sectors.
Catherine Barnes was a feature writer with Express newspapers for ten years and established and edited the Sunday Express Kids page. She was also gardening editor for both the Daily and Sunday Express for three years.
After graduating from the University of Central Lancashire in 1994, she worked as a producer and presenter with Radio Television Hong Kong. Catherine is an experienced publicist and freelance contributor on human interest, beauty, health and travel for national consumer magazines.
Catherine joined the team at The Marketing-PR Company in spring 2008 to deliver effective media relations to our expanding list of clients operating within the business-to-consumer sectors.
Adam McPherson is a PR graduate with a strong background in sales and customer service. Adam works on key client business to business accounts within business services, ICT and the construction industry.
Adam graduated with a BA (Hons) in Public Relations and ICT; he joined The Marketing-PR Company in April 2006 after a year spent working in sales. During his time at WMPR Ltd Adam has successfully developed strong relations within the regional business press and specific sectors of the national trade press and national newspapers.
Kate Williams is an experienced press officer working within education, food and drink and public sector organisations.
Kate graduated from University of Exeter with a degree in PR and Sociology. Kate is a keen wordsmith with a keen eye for identifying a good news angle. Kate puts her excellent communication skills to good use managing the press office; distributing releases, answering media enquiries and setting up media interviews.
Anne Jones is an experienced journalist and public relations professional with more years’ experience than she cares to remember!
After working as a reporter and sub editor for local newspapers including the Exeter Express and Echo, she became a press and public relations manager with Farley Health Products, Plymouth Health Authority and then BT. Lately she has freelanced for Devon and Cornwall Training and Enterprise Council, South West Enterprise Limited and most recently with The Marketing-PR Company on Business Link Devon and Cornwall.
